Sample Letter to Read-A-Thon Sponsors

As you get ramped up for the Read-A-Thon, you might write a letter soliciting donations to people who are close to your son or daughter. Use the text below to copy and paste a note to friends and family, or download the Word document below to get the text. You can edit the words as you see fit! Your extended community WANTS to help create motivated readers and learners, so don’t be shy. Think how proud your child will be collecting pledges after they earn those reading minutes every day. They should be proud!

Dear (NAME OF FRIEND OR RELATIVE),

On November 3, 2017, I will begin a six-day reading challenge known as the Winnona Park Elementary School Read-A-Thon. That week, I pledge to drop everything and read as many minutes as possible. I need your support, so please consider sponsoring me per-minute or in a lump-sum donation.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to benefit the Winnona Park Elementary School PTA. These funds will be providing classroom equipment, supporting teachers’ professional development, and contributing to events and programs that will enrich and engage the Winnona Park community.

Won’t you please consider making a tax deductible donation to this important cause? Use this link to visit my site where you can make your donation online: http://bit.ly/Read-A-Thon

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
